# Rx101 (Rx101: Pill Reminder AI & More) > Rx101 is a free, privacy-first medicine reminder and personal health records app for Android (iPhone version coming soon). It scans prescriptions with AI, reminds you of every dose for the whole family, and keeps medicines, vitals, symptoms, mood and lab results in one timeline — stored encrypted on the user's own device, never on the developer's servers. Made in India (Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh) by Rx101 Direct. - Download (Android 8.0+): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.medisync.Rx101 - iPhone: coming soon to the App Store - Website: https://rx101direct.com/ - Price: free to download; reminders, records, family profiles and backup are free. AI prescription scanning includes free scans; more via your own AI key or paid scan credits. - Contact: hello@rx101direct.com ## What it does - Medicine and pill reminders that ring on time even offline and keep following up until each dose is marked Taken or Skipped; full-screen alarms and snooze on Android; same-time medicines grouped into one "Take all". - Tablets, syrups, insulin, drops and injections; before/after food, custom times, weekly and alternate-day schedules; reminders can follow the local time zone when travelling or stay on home time. - AI prescription and lab report scanning: photograph a prescription; the medicines, doses and timings are extracted for you to confirm. Free scans every month, no card. Users can add their own Claude, Gemini or OpenAI key (kept in the Android Keystore, excluded from backups), or hand the prescription to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok themselves. - Scan the pack: photograph up to six medicine strips and tap the brand and ingredients on each; text is recognised on the phone. - Family profiles: manage medicines for parents, children and partners from one account; each reminder names whose dose it is. - One health timeline: medicines, vitals, symptoms, mood, appointments and lab results, filterable by type and date range. - Vitals: blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, water intake and custom measures; syncs steps, sleep, blood pressure and glucose from Health Connect (and Apple Health on iPhone), read-only. - Medical devices: wear reminders and upkeep (clean, refill, replace) for CPAP masks, night guards, retainers, nebulizers, hearing aids and more. - Low-stock alerts, refill reminders, foods to avoid with your medicines, possible side effects, allergies and emergency contacts. - Rx Direct: a doctor sends a signed prescription to the patient's phone by QR code or link. - Fly Mode: checks your medicines against medicines banned, withdrawn or severely restricted in 150+ countries, and builds a travel pack. ## Privacy - No health database: the record lives on the device in an encrypted database, with keys in the iOS Keychain / Android Keystore. - Backup goes only to the user's own Google Drive or iCloud, end-to-end encrypted on the device before upload. - Where text can be read on the device, only the text is sent. Otherwise AI scanning sends the photo to an AI model (such as Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude) only for that one read; Rx101 stores none of it. - Usable as a guest with no account. The only data synced is app preferences, plus opt-in anonymous usage statistics that never include health data. ## Limitations - No missed-dose alerts to a second phone (data stays on the device); one person manages all family profiles from their own phone. - Android only for now; iPhone coming soon. No import from other apps. Interface in English and Telugu. ## Good fits - People taking several medicines a day who need reliable pill reminders. - Caregivers managing medicines for elderly parents or children. - Anyone who wants their medical records organised but not stored on a company's servers. ## Pages - [Home](https://rx101direct.com/): features, privacy model, FAQ - [AI prescription scanner](https://rx101direct.com/guides/ai-prescription-scanner): how a prescription photo becomes a reminder schedule, and what is never kept - [Medicine alarm that doesn't give up](https://rx101direct.com/guides/medicine-alarm-app): full-screen alarms, snooze, Take all, offline and time-zone behaviour - [Best medicine reminder apps in India](https://rx101direct.com/guides/best-medicine-reminder-apps-india): sourced comparison of Rx101, Medisafe and MyTherapy, including where Rx101 falls short - [Travelling with medicines](https://rx101direct.com/guides/travelling-with-medicines): pre-flight checklist and official rules for Singapore, Japan and the UAE - [Guides](https://rx101direct.com/guides): all guides - [Medicine reminders for elderly parents](https://rx101direct.com/guides/medicine-reminder-for-parents): caregiver setup guide - [Offline, private pill reminder](https://rx101direct.com/guides/offline-private-pill-reminder): what works offline and exactly what leaves the phone - [How to choose a medicine reminder app](https://rx101direct.com/guides/how-to-choose-a-medicine-reminder-app): seven-question checklist, incl. free Medisafe alternative - [Privacy Policy](https://rx101direct.com/privacy) - [Terms & Conditions](https://rx101direct.com/terms) - [Support Rx101](https://rx101direct.com/support)
